The Challenge
Before adopting the solution provided by Sanbrick®, there was a huge need for storage capacity due to recent migration to Veeam Backup. Now it is necessary a large storage capacity but above all scalable backup repository it is crucial.
To follow their requirements, Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (IPL) started by looking for a backup repository solution that was compatible with Veeam Backup Software, had large storage capacity and could be scalable up to Pentabytes.

The Solution
The Magnetar R2-1235 appliance was installed with a JBOD expansion reaching 288 TB Raw on NL-SAS and 4 ports at 10Gb/s to provide storage for Veeam Backup repositories, integrating Veeam through 10Gb/s ports, interconnected by 2 separated network switches for redundancy purpose.
